In short: your sleep data, scores, tags and notes stay on your iPhone. They are never sent to us or to anyone else. The only service the app talks to is Superwall, which shows the subscription screen and receives anonymous paywall and subscription events.
Who we are
Sleep Tiles ("the App", "we", "our") is a sleep habit tracker for iPhone made by an independent developer. This policy explains what information the App uses and where it goes.
Apple Health data
With your permission, the App reads sleep analysis data from Apple Health: when you were in bed, asleep and awake, sleep stages where available, and which device or app recorded it. The App never writes to Apple Health.
- Health data is processed and stored only on your device, to score each night and draw your grid, streaks and widgets.
- Health data is never sent to us, to Superwall or to any other third party.
- Health data is never used for advertising, marketing or data mining, and is never sold.
You can change or remove the App's access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Sleep Tiles.
Information you enter
Behaviour tags, notes, manually entered nights and your settings (sleep goal, bedtime window, definition of a good night, colour palette) are stored on your device only. Your iPhone may include them in your own iCloud or computer backup, as it does for any app.
If you use Export CSV, the App creates a file on your device and you choose where to share it. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you send it.
Widgets
To show your grid and streak in widgets, the App saves a summary of your nightly scores in a storage area on your device that only Sleep Tiles and its widgets can read.
Subscriptions and Superwall
The App uses Superwall to show the subscription screen and to measure how it performs. Superwall receives:
- an anonymous, randomly generated app user ID;
- device and app details such as device model, iOS version, language, region, time zone and app version;
- subscription screen events, such as when it is shown, which plan is selected and whether a purchase or restore happens;
- your subscription status and purchase details from the App Store.
Superwall does not receive your sleep data, scores, tags, notes, name or email address. Superwall's own privacy policy is at superwall.com/legal/privacy-policy.
Payments
Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
What we don't do
- No accounts and no sign-in.
- No advertising and no ad tracking.
- No selling or sharing of your information.
- No servers of our own that store your data.
Not medical advice
Sleep Tiles is a wellness tool for building sleep habits. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. Talk to a doctor about any sleep concerns.
Children
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Deleting your data
All of the App's data lives on your device. Deleting the App removes it. Deleting the App does not remove anything from Apple Health, which the App never changes. To ask about data Superwall holds for your anonymous ID, email us.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
